What is a Ten Frame?
Ten frames are special grids that help us count and understand numbers up to
10!
A ten frame has two rows with five boxes each - just like our fingers! We can fill the boxes to show
numbers and see patterns.
How to Use a Ten Frame
1️⃣ Look at the empty ten frame with 10 boxes
2️⃣ Count as you fill boxes from left to right
3️⃣ Say the number when all boxes are filled
Let's Practice Together!

Parent Tips 🌟
- Make it hands-on: Create a physical ten frame using egg cartons (cut to 10 sections) and small toys or snacks to count
- Connect to daily life: Point out groups of items (like plates on the table) and ask your child how they would show that number on a ten frame
- Sing while counting: Make up simple counting songs with actions to reinforce the sequence from 1 to 10
